Orientalisman & VISÚ

What would a great festival opening be without a good party? After Saïdo Lehlou's hip-hop performance Apaches, we invite everyone to dance in the Cumberlandsche Bar. Orientalisman and VISÚ will be behind the DJ booth to ensure a good atmosphere. With drinks and hot sounds, we'll get in the mood for the coming festival days!

Orientalisman (she/her) is a Kurdish DJ from Hannover. In her sets, she shares the music she grew up with from the Arab and Kurdish regions, mixed with R'n'B and Baile Funk. Through her name, her style and her gold jewelry, she reclaims her identity as a Kurdish woman. Her goal is to create more spaces for Habibis to shake their bootys.

VISÚ is a Hannover-based DJ, curator, and photographer. Born in Cambodia and raised in the Caribbean, VISÚ's sets are deeply intertwined with the diverse influences of Afro-Caribbean, Khmer, and LATAM music that have surrounded him since his formative years. Drawing inspiration from these diverse musical cultures, he delves into the far-reaching realms of the global bass universe. Here, he transitions between high-energy dembow rhythms, sharp breakbeats, funky club cuts, and the captivating blend of Funk Carioca and Afro-Electro expressions.
