It’s the somewhat bolshy mixture of pop, fluxus, chanson and her choice of material that makes the work of the artist and (book-)designer Franziska Nast what it is. She has been practicing the craft of tattooing since 2007 and is a co-founder of the Kunstverein St. Pauli, with which she has been testing experimental exhibition forms in urban contexts since 2006.

In the festival centre she will present a selection of works under the title “rrrrrealdirrrrrtydancingfeet”, as well as offering a few slots in which she will immortalise the motifs she has developed specifically for the site on visitors’ bodies.

Collages

Based on and inspired by themes such as dance, feet, leaving traces, movement, speed, imprints, traces on the skin, touch, and abrasion, Nast has developed drawn collages on textile, on which dirty feet are paired with expressions of amazement and horror, onomatopoeia, writing that has become sound - installed on building fences, they extend the entrance to the Ballhof, or to be more precise, the entrance to her temporary tattoo studio. The windows of the foyer are also part of the visual intervention. Textile drawings in the windows merge to form an overall installation that turns the foyer into an artistic experience. Immerse yourself in Nast's world of traces, marks, imprints, and movements.

Tattoo

Site-specific tattoos will be offered during the festival. The collages on the building fences will serve as motif panels. Fragments/details from these structures, sequences, word fragments can be selected.

Beanbags

Beanbags, placed and stacked on the stage and in the foyer - covered by Franziska Nast's drawings - not only serve as visual elements, but also give visitors the opportunity to dive into an immersive art world, to wrap themselves in the drawings, to sink into them.

The beanbags function as an installation in the room, but also invite visitors to linger in the space and let themselves be carried away by the artistic atmosphere. Blurred traces merge as drawings in the room to create an overall impression.

Fack Fushion

Nast launched the fashion label “Fack Fushion” in 2001. Since then, discolorations and prints on textiles have been created under this name, partly as clothing and for everyday use. A selection of >nasty couture< can be purchased at the festival centre, which can be refined on site with the REAL DANCE logo by screen printing.
