In co-operation with Kestner Gesellschaft, the Real Dance Festival is showing two video works by contemporary choreographers who have been shaping international dance for decades. William Forsythe and Boris Charmatz have in common that, in addition to their unforgettable and groundbreaking stage works, they have expanded their choreographic cosmos through film, exhibition, and installation works. Two of their works, Tri Tempi (2023) and TRANSEPT (2023), can be seen at the Kestner Gesellschaft during the festival.

On 29 JAN at 17.00, Sven Christian Schuch will be on site at the Kestner Gesellschaft to classify various representations of physicalities on stage, in the exhibition space and in the format film. The admission to the event is free.

The curator Sven Christian Schuch is the Artistic Director of spce | Muthesius in Kiel. He has been working at the interface of contemporary art, dance and theory for more than 15 years, including as the director of the Sfeir-Semler Gallery in Beirut and Hamburg, as the exhibition organiser of ‘MIND the GAP’ in the historic Bieberhaus at Hamburg Central Station and as managing director of the Schinkel Pavillon in Berlin.
